Redmine OpenAtlas - Bug #2049 (Closed): Link from Source to Artifact brokenhttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/20492023-08-23T16:02:24ZVictoria Leonard

Hello!

I'm not sure if I can use this to feedback to you anymore, sad!

I wanted to add links from four sources to four artifacts, but I got the 'bad request' response. Is it possible to make this change still?

I wanted to add the artifacts for 'Epistula 60++ Augustine to Nectarius' and 'Epistula 61++ Augustine to Nectarius' to the source for 'Epistula 90 Nectarius to Augustine (ca. 408)'.

I wanted to add the artifacts for 'Epistula 62++ Augustine to Crispinus 1' and 'Epistula 63++ Augustine to Crispinus 1' to the source for 'Epistula 51 Augustine to Crispinus 1 (ca. 399-400)'.

Finally, I wanted to add the artifact for 'Epistula 64+ Augustine to Severus 1 (ca. 409)' to the source for 'Epistula 110 Augustine to Severus 1 (ca. 409)'.

Would this be possible?

Many thanks,

with warmest wishes,

Is there a way that I can create artifacts and link them to other entries?

In Event > Epistula 15++ Aurelius 1 to Augustine (ca. 392), there is a location category instead of 'To' and 'From', to indicate the exchange of the letter. See here: https://connec.acdh.oeaw.ac.at/entity/914.

Thank you!
OpenAtlas - Question #1312 (Closed): Accreditation https://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/13122020-07-27T13:51:33ZVictoria Leonard

Dear Software Developers Team,

In the course of Becca Grose's placement with us, the issue of author accreditation for the database came up. I've done some research by investigating how other online databases are accredited, and I think we can make some improvements so that the database can be cited properly and each contributor has their work recognised.

I've put together a document that represents best practice. It looks long but it isn't, it's mainly screenshots. I've tried to make it as clear as possible. Can you have a look and tell me what you think? In terms of what you think is best, and how feasible implementing these changes will be? Let me know if there's anything you need clarification on.

Thanks very much!

With warmest wishes,

Victoria
OpenAtlas - Bug #1223 (Closed): Visibility of Full Entrieshttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/12232020-04-29T09:24:09ZVictoria Leonard

Hello Team OpenAtlas,

There is a problem with seeing full entries on the database. At the moment you have to click on 'edit' in order to see the full entry, which won't be possible for users rather than editors.

Could this be resolved?

Thanks!

Victoria
OpenAtlas - Question #1219 (Closed): Missing entryhttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/12192020-04-27T09:23:09ZVictoria Leonard

Hello,

I've just noticed a missing entry. Source 'Epistula 190 Augustine to Optatus 7 (ca. 418)' [https://connec.acdh.oeaw.ac.at/entity/7668#tab-info] has no description. This is a long letter, and all other details for the letter, such as the actors, event, and reference, have been included, so I don't think that I have not created a description. Could you investigate what has happened?

Many thanks!

Victoria
OpenAtlas - Feature #1159 (Closed): Multiple References to go into One Referencehttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/11592020-02-21T16:02:03ZVictoria Leonard

I need some help with some of the references I've put into OpenAtlas. Alex made some changes to address this previously, but there are more references that need to be altered.

As before, instead of adding all references to one existing reference, I was creating individual references with each input. Can you do large-scale change to put all relevant references within one reference? Like this example: https://connec.acdh.oeaw.ac.at/entity/5341#tab-source.

So there should be only one reference to:

" 'Saint Augustine Letters volume 1 (1-82)', trans. by Wilfred Parsons (Washington: The Catholic University of America Press, 1951) "
" 'Saint Augustine Letters volume 2 (83-130)', trans. by Wilfred Parsons (Washington: The Catholic University of America Press, 1953) "
" CSEL 34.1 "
" CSEL 34.2 "
" CSEL 44 "

With " 'Saint Augustine Letters volume 3 (131-164)', trans. by Wilfred Parsons (Washington: The Catholic University of America Press, 1953) ", there are some individual entries that need to be moved, but there is also a master entry with 55 references here: https://connec.acdh.oeaw.ac.at/entity/3204.
OpenAtlas - Feature #1116 (Closed): Duplication of Edition Entrieshttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/11162019-12-13T16:28:13ZVictoria Leonard

Unfortunately there is a methodological disparity between how Alice and I are entering data into OpenAtlas. For references to the edition for each text, Alice has been citing one edition/translation and then adding the pages in the box that says 'page', whereas I've been creating a new entry for the same books every time. My method isn't preferable, and it would be better to streamline mine and Alice's approaches. Would it be possible to do a mass change, so that all entries for ''Saint Augustine Letters volume 3 (131-164)', trans. by Wilfred Parsons (Washington: The Catholic University of America Press, 1953)' for example, would be to one entry? Does that make sense?

Thanks very much,

Victoria
OpenAtlas - Question #1077 (Closed): Remove Super Subtypehttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/10772019-11-09T17:58:20ZVictoria Leonard

In 'Custom Types' > 'Case Study', I want to remove the Super Category: 'Letter Collections 380-640 2 (521)', which is a super category for 'Augustine of Hippo - Letter Collection 497 (24)'. I want to make the 'Augustine of Hippo...' category the only category, and do away with the super cateogory 'Letter Collections...' without losing any data. Is it possible for you to merge these?

Many thanks for your help!

Victoria
OpenAtlas - Question #1075 (Closed): Editing Noteshttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/10752019-10-23T15:54:19ZVictoria Leonard

Many apologies if this is a stupid question, but how do I edit a note? I've inserted one, but I can't see how to change or delete it.
OpenAtlas - Question #1073 (Closed): Connections between places, events and peoplehttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/10732019-10-23T15:39:30ZVictoria Leonard

I want to better connect actors and events with places in OpenAtlas. I have two issues with this:

1. How can I link places and events in letters? The place Sinitis is mentioned in epistula 84. I’ve added it as a place to the ‘source’ for epistula 84, but where can I include a description of what the connection between Sinitis the place and epistula 84 the event is?

2. Is there a way of connecting actor entries with places? The actor Lucillus is mentioned in connection with Sinitis - he doesn't reside there or visit Sinitis, but he has a connection nonetheless. But in the entry for 'actor' there is no place tab. Could one be added with a description so that I can mark a relationship between an actor and a place on the map, and describe what that connection is?
OpenAtlas - Feature #1072 (Closed): Show places of movement at the person viewhttps://redmine.openatlas.eu/issues/10722019-10-23T08:54:51ZVictoria Leonard
