Question #1702
closedMove event connected to dead individuals
Description
I have a short question on how to enter very specific move event data. As there are several ways to enter a moving event - moving of an artifact, involuntary movement of people (e.g. exchange or transfer of prisoners, expulsion of people, etc.) or voluntary movement (such as a journey), how would you add the move of a dead person into the database. I can think of several use cases - For example, the transfer of Barbarossa after he had drowned on one of the crusades, reliquary translations, or the transfer of executed persons from the place of execution to the place of burial. How would such cases be best entered?

I would say a dead person is moved like an artifact, so directly connected at the move event insert/update form. This would be correct from the model perspective: it is a person entity and it didn't moved on its own.
Of course it raises philosophical questions like is a dead person still a person but I don't think we have to get into this, in our model it is still a person.
In case this answers your question I would like to ask you to close this ticket or otherwise add it as a topic for developer meeting next week.
