h1. Approaching Byzantium meeting 2024-03-13 Updated information in the course of the meeting is %{color:green}in color%. Every participant is welcome to add and adapt. h2. Participants * *OpenAtlas*: Alexander Watzinger * *Approaching Byzantium*: Nicholas Melvani h2. Topics There are some new questions by Nicholas about data entry. h3. Entering data for inscriptions %{color:green}We took a look at it and discussed it. Important take away would be that the artifact has to be an actual artifact (not just the text). Depending on need for details it can be done either:% * %{color:green}In a very general way e.g. this is the inscription of a grave stone, statue or similar. Some details can be provided in the description e.g. the description is located at the bottom of a statue% * %{color:green}If more detailed information is needed for e.g. later analysis, it could be done with sub artifacts, e.g. creating as sub for a grave called metal plaque and add information like material composition or similar% h3. Entering data for manuscripts which copy other manuscripts * %{color:green}%Nicholas presented an example involving an artifact with an inscription and a painting (file) of the artifact also containing the (interpreted) source text.% * %{color:green}%Difficulty would be to track all related information in a structured way and also keep the relation between text on the artifact and text on the image. Nicholas kindly offered to create an issue for later discussion -> #2230% h3. Linking artifacts with other artifacts * %{color:green}Because of absences we couldn't discuss this feature (#2127) in the last meeting but it is already on the [[Meeting_2024-03-21|agenda]] of the next developer meeting in one week.% h3. How to proceed with the presentation website. * %{color:green}Report of problems with the display of data can be done similar to the OpenAtlas project with creating issues at the project:"openatlas-discovery" project% * %{color:green}In general we will continue taking it step by step, meaning showing progress of our frontend team and receiving feedback of Nicholas regulary.% * %{color:green}We will schedule the next about the Approaching Byzantium presentation site next week, aiming for begin of April.%
