h1. Meeting 2025-11-12 h1. Developer Meeting 2025-09-17, 13:00 Location: ACDH, Bäckerstraße 13, meeting room 3D Updated information in the course of the meeting is %{color:green}in color% and/or marked with an ✅. Every participant is welcome to add and adapt. h2. Participants * Alexander Watzinger * Bernhard Koschiček-Krombholz * Katharina Wünsche * Nina Richards * Massimiliano Carloni * Olivia Reichl * Stefan Eichert (moderator) h2. Administrative * Feedback round * Schedule next developer meeting: %{color:green}28.1.2026, 13.00, Alex will moderate% * Employee talks * Events: %{color:green}We will hand something in for CAA and CIA, potentially also for the Salzburg Digital History (tba)% h3. Upcoming major release 9.0.0 * Status update (#2464) %{color:green}-> we are on track for the new year release, including the OpenAtlas discovery 1.0.0 release% * Maybe a last minor "release":https://redmine.openatlas.eu/versions/374 before the major release. If so, when? %{color:green}-> several issues are resolved, could be released next week already% * Can we upgrade (Debian and OpenAtlas) and test at THANADOS? %{color:green}-> Feedback: would be okay for THANADOS team if it was tested and running from OpenAtlas side beforehand but should be done at the start of next year when everybody is back in case there are problems. About Debian update: might be carried out on a new external server for THANADOS as soon as it is available (also backups to a different server should be kept in mind).% * Show and discuss challenges with new tabs at event, actor and place %{color:green}-> Stefan made the great suggestion to hide tabs without entries but make them appear with a plus button beside the last open tab. (#2675)% h3. Topics * Improve performance for huge data sets (e.g. THANADOS) %{color:green}-> Alex wasn't aware of the performance issues at THANADOS, please inform Alex when it gets to this point again% ** Load form tables dynamically (#2300) might help with that * Bone Inventory (#2591) %{color:green}-> already on Vocabs (staging instance, not productive yet); still some issues like showing the hierarchy and missing metadata (metadata will be taken care of by Nina after her vacation); Alex would like to try to import the vocabulary into OpenAtlas before transferring it to the productive instance (after approval from Matej and Klaus).% * Multiple entries for creators of files (#2570-5) %{color:green}-> Causes problems during archiving process; Stefan: The licenses should be tracked in the same way as creator and license holder but should be kept as simple as possible for the user interface. Bernhard: there are references that the licenses can be linked already and is done in this way in the API. Alex: Creators should be added as normal actors so the regular forms can be used. Stefan: This should apply for references as well (they are all creators if they create an image or an article) - so one solution for all would be best. Bernhard: a new class "metadata" would avoid confusion between prosopographic actors and creators/license holders; Problem: several actors might have more than one entries in the database then (e.g. as actor and author). A final decision could not be reached at this time and Stefan, Bernhard and Alex will schedule a meeting to discuss the details next year. But for now, several string fields will be implemented in the UI to make it easier to enter data.% * Handling DOIs (#2601, #2617) %{color:green}-> will be discussed in the realm of the point above% * Update about OpenAtlas Discovery %{color:green}-> very nice new features from the "last release":https://redmine.openatlas.eu/versions/392 were presented.%
