Feature #2193
closedImport artifacts
Description
I am trying to import a group of artefacts using the provided csv template.
However, it does not seem to have an option to import objects.
The support list includes;
source, activity, acquisition, creation, event, modification, move, production, person, group, place, bibliography, and edition.
Does it matter whether I choose the correct category or not?
Many thanks,
Gary

- Subject changed from import artefact data to import archaeological data

I am trying to import an archaeological dataset (a csv file) that contains artefacts and corresponding site information and analytical results (chemical composition). I was wondering how to do this in an effective way.
Should I break down my dataset into at least two sets: artefact.csv and site.csv and attach the related custom types respectively? or maybe one more for the literature?
In the support list, I can relate site to place and literature to biliography. However, I didn't see the exact match for artefacts. The list only includes:
source, activity, acquisition, creation, event, modification, move, production, person, group, place, bibliography, and edition.
I suppose I should select acquisition in this case?
Does it matter whether I choose the correct category or not?
Many thanks,
Gary

Thank you for reporting.
The selected category does matter. I guess it's not too much work to implement an artifact import but I still have to look at in detail. Most likely it will implemented in version 8.3.0
