Description

The type tree count can be quite confusing if the types are numbers. We should find a UI element, to better distinguish between type name and the count (directly attached entities and attached through subtypes).

My suggestion:

I used ms-3 and ms-2 to get more space between the text and the badges so that they don't stick so much to the text. bg-opacity-10 for the primary badge, because the blue is just too strong.

Please tell me how you like it.

Thank you Bernhard for looking into this. Your suggestion does a good job to visually differentiate the name and the count but I have a few suggestions:
  • Use an example where the labels are numbers (e.g. Kataster IDs) and show a before and after example to draw the attention to the issue at hand.
  • The double differentiation of count of entities linked in subs (not in the badge and parenthesis) feels off, maybe try to have them both in the badge (and keep the parenthesis)

But of course these are just suggestions and I welcome others to join in as well.

Thank you, Olivia will also tell me something in person. Maybe we will have a short meeting to decide what is best.

We still haven't found a satisfying solution, @all if you find examples for this in the wild or have ideas please add them here, ideally with examples/images.

I suggest that if we don't find common ground soon, I will commit these changes, as the current user base has not complained about this behavior. We only found it confusing when the types consist solely of numbers.

Afterwards, we can create a new ticket to discuss the best long-term solution in depth, including UX tests and discussion in the developer meeting, and decide whether to move away from jstree, which is a jQuery library.

I found this solution visually appealing. I merge it into develop. If anybody disagrees, please let me know.
