Looked into jstree and jquery easy ui but problematic because using jquery 1.7.2. and a higher one would be needed.
Switching to a newer jquery version would have drawbacks: not in debian repository and much work/possible bugs with other jquery plugins.
So for now trying to find a css only solution.
