Description

Currently, it isn't possible to add a link to an external referencing system on a source page. This would be super useful where some source texts have been digitised (e.g. the DMGH has many (old) editions of letter collections that we use) so that we could link users directly to the right place in the text.

Is there any reason why this isn't possible and would it be easy to add?

(It's possible to add every single reference separately as an independent URL/web page using the references tab but this seems far more unwieldy)

  • Subject changed from External referencing on entry source page (CONNEC) to External reference systems for sources
  • Category set to Backend
  • Status changed from New to Acknowledged
  • Target version set to 7.1.0

Thank you for reporting, I understand it might be useful to link sources to external reference systems but we have to look into it. Hopefully it is straight forward to implement and to keep the user interface understandable which can get quite tricky with adding new cross relations as you may have noticed with the "source-artifact-move" issue.
Anyway, I put it on the roadmap for now and thanks again for reporting.

  • Status changed from Acknowledged to Closed
  • Assignee set to Alexander Watzinger
  • Target version changed from 7.1.0 to 6.4.0

I managed to include this for the next release which will happen in this week.
Thank you for this suggestion, it enriches the possibilities to connect to external reference systems even more.
