Some thoughts on file upload:
Allow (nearly) all files (no viruses/executables etc.)
Admin defines max file-size (limit: given by server)
Auto scale down etc. if image is too large.
Test max-file size for lightbox and thumbnail
Gif, Tif, jpg, png, bmp, etc.?
Where in the ui can the images be added and where are they shown?suggestion: a) with information carrier and b) with actors and c) with pyhsical things (Places, later Finds etc.)
remark Alex: Allow with all main entity classes
What information is stored with the image as entries in the database:
Image: stored as "document (e31)" and linked with (p67) "refers to" to the respective actor/information carrier/physical thing.
User can enter Description
Version a)
Copyright: it will be necessary to record the right that applies to the image. Therefore we can use: either types or (probably better) E31 (Document) p104 (is subject to) E30 Right
Therefore we need the possibility to add "Rights" probably in the Category menu (Model/Types)
References: It will be necessary to record the source of the image (eg. the book and page where it was scanned from) Therefore it should be linkable with a bibliographic reference
Creator: Record wich actor has created the image/holds the right
Version b) store this data as metadata with the file?
