Hi

...schon in den feature bootstrap gemerged, Danke!

Thank you very much Stefan, this sounds like a good idea. A few suggestions:
Development branch organization¶
- Please rename this branch to feature_ui_improvements, this will be your branch (push the new one and delete the old one on GitHub too)
- When working on it be sure to regularly merge the current develop branch into it
- Be sure to make single commits for every type of change. It's easier to work with it in case only part of the changes is wanted.
- I guess feature_subunits isn't needed anymore, I removed the (already fully merged) branch from GitHub. You can remove this branch locally too, if you haven't already.
Workflow¶
Because @Christoph Hoffmann is our beloved UI guy I suggest he looks into it from time to time and merges feature_ui_improvements into his feature_bootstrap branch.
I just saw he did exactly this as I was writing this, great minds think alike ;)
To make it easier to notice changes please @Stefan Eichert add a note here with a small description if you added something.

Thank you for the menu suggestions. The last change with the settings drop down is a very deep layout change we should discuss.
E.g. in my opinion search and logout should be accessible all the time and not hidden somewhere. Thinking of small screens is ok in general but shouldn't be our main focus, adaptions for smaller displays shouldn't force more clicks on you if you have a "normal" screen.

In the thanados case, the logo is relatively large and even on regular screens the navbar is expanded to two rows.
Maybe we leave the search and login button and use the rest in a dropdown?
What about removing the search button and let the user promt the search with Enter on the keyboard?
What do you think?
Best, Stefan

Thank you for the screenshot, it demonstrates the problem clearly and I agree that we should do something about that.
Maybe we can solve it so that if space gets to little that the options are placed above the main menu.
I'm afraid that would be something for a layout meeting because search and logout were only examples, e.g. some might argue that a link to legal notice should be visible all the time because of, you know, legal implications and so on.
So maybe we postpone this discussion for when we meet up again. Sorry about the inconvenience but it's really easier to discuss it at a meeting where we could try out, look at and discuss changes at the same time.

Just remembered a complication with removing the language menu from top and only being able to change it in profile: we need a switch for not logged in user too (intro, legal text, contact, ...) so leaving language menu on top till this is solved.
