Topics

This meeting will be about the presentation site to make the results of the Approaching Byzantium project available to a broader audience.

Information from previous discussion
  • Language will be English
  • Intended audience: mainly research community and students of the humanities -> also for e.g. layman interested in urban history of Istanbul
  • Main target device: not too small e.g. everything doesn't have to fit on a mobile device -> most of it should be usable even on smaller devices, e.g. for interested people who are onsite
General
  • Description of project content and expected results -> prominent topics are travel accounts from scholars, movement of artifacts (books, manuscripts, ...) and similar
  • Update about the current stage of the presentation site
Questions about layout
  • User Stories -> because there is a lot about movement we could use that to e.g. display journeys of artifacts and/or people
  • Static content pages -> will be self manageable early next year
  • Data table columns -> will be looked it at a later stage
  • Detail view for different classes? see actors, place
  • Other websites as examples
  • At the start page could be a map centered on Istanbul showing (clickable) places (but not movement)
