Archaeological demo version
Added by Nina Richards over 3 years ago.
Updated 5 months ago.
Description
Similar to the demo version (https://demo.openatlas.eu/) and the developmental demo version (https://demo-dev.openatlas.eu/) a demo working with anthropological data and the archaeological structure of the database would be desirable.
Update
- We decided to use this for the current demo (instead of MEDCON data) to offer a demo version with archeological/anthropological data and because much more recent OpenAtlas features can be demonstrated
- Data will be taken from the THANADOS project (https://thanados.net) and most likely include a subset of graves located in Teurnia, Gars-Thunau, Zwentendorf and Oberleiserberg
- Project changed from 61 to OpenAtlas
- Subject changed from Archaeological Demo Version to Archaeological demo version
- Status changed from New to Acknowledged
- Target version set to Wishlist
- Assignee set to Nina Richards
- Target version changed from Wishlist to 7.17.0
Great idea! Please provide us data and we will make it happen!
- Status changed from Acknowledged to Assigned
Thank you Bernhard for moving this from the wishlist to the actual roadmap.
The reason that it doesn't belong on the wishlist is that we already agreed to this, we just need data to fill the demo. As far as I remember the idea was to use a data subset from THANADOS so this issue was assigned to Nina (who also created the issue) and I also added Stefan as watcher (both are also the PIs of THANADOS). As soon as we have the data we have to discuss minor topics like e.g. the domain name, should it have an open API and do we want to add a presentation site.
Just in case this issue isn't relevant anymore, feel free to turn it into a question and close it.
- Description updated (diff)
- Assignee changed from Nina Richards to Stefan Eichert
- Assignee changed from Stefan Eichert to Alexander Watzinger
- Status changed from Assigned to In Progress
As discussed I will try to extract these sites: Teurnia, Gars-Thunau, Zwentendorf and Oberleiserberg
- Target version changed from 7.17.0 to 8.0.0
- Assignee changed from Alexander Watzinger to Stefan Eichert
- Target version changed from 8.0.0 to 312
As discussed yesterday at the developer meeting, best way to go about this will be sitting down together with Stefan to take a look at it.
@Stefan Eichert: please let me know when it would be a good time for you.
- Target version changed from 312 to 8.3.0
Moving this issue because we are close to the 8.0.0 major release and it makes more sense to do it after that.
- Assignee changed from Stefan Eichert to Bernhard Koschiček-Krombholz
- Target version changed from 8.3.0 to 8.2.0
Data is ready to be reviewed.
- Assignee changed from Bernhard Koschiček-Krombholz to Alexander Watzinger
Thanks a lot, I will look into it.
Because we weren't sure yesterday if we want to replace the demo (and which). According to the issue it was planned to replace neither but to add an additional one. I will think about that after having checked the data.
After some consideration I would say we replace the DPP demo-dev version with THANADOS demo data.
Both current demo versions contain data created with older OpenAtlas systems and so are not well suited to also demonstrate newer features with existing data.
I would say one historical as demo and one archeological as demo-dev would currently be sufficient but we should replace the historical demo version (MEDCON) with a more recent project in the near feature too.
Anyway, a big thanks to Bernhard and Stefan for the work and possibility to use parts of THANADOS as demo data.
I can implement it with Bernhard on Monday. @Bernhard Koschiček-Krombholz, if possible it would be great if the images would be available than too.
The images are ready.
One thing, I took content text from thanados.net, maybe we have to adapt it.
And I don't know if Stefan wants to look through it, before publishing it.
