Linking artifacts with more than one place
Added by Nicholas Melvani almost 2 years ago.

Description
I would like to be able to show that an artifact was in a specific building for a given time period and then was located in a different building at a later point. This is not possible, since each artifact can only have one super. Is there a way to deal with this?

I kindly asked Stefan to take a look at it.
- Status changed from Assigned to Acknowledged
- Assignee changed from Stefan Eichert to Nicholas Melvani
The "Super" Place is considered the place of origin (or the first appearance, place where it has been found etc.) in the OpenAtlas System. Therefore only one is possible.
Artifacts however, can be moved within a move event. This would allow to map various places where the artifact has been at a certain point in time.
E.g The site where the artifact has been found during an excavation would be the primary place. A "move" event would move the artifact to a museum. Another move event could move it to e.g. a temporary exhibition in another place. The following move event would move it back to the museum.
This way, the itinerary of a (moveable) physical object can be documented.

Thank you Nicholas for asking and Stefan for answering. Especially doing it via Redmine which allows others to participate and documents it in case of follow up questions.
In this case I learned something knew too and created an issue (#1973) to describe this particular usage scenario in the manual.
