In this release CIDOC CRM was updated from 6.2.1 to the current 7.1.1 version.
The user interface hasn't changed because of that but in case the data is used elsewhere you should take a look at the adaptions in the OpenAtlas model, see #1506.
There also have been some API (breaking) changes so be sure to consult the upgrade notes in case you're using it.

Other changes include:

• Much improved value type display in forms
• Multiple aliases can now be added in one go
• Minor improvements in the user interfaces, performance, ...

This is a major release. Administrators: please be aware that underlying software was updated and take special care doing this upgrade, see #1566 and instructions in /install/upgrade

• Events can now be connected sequentially (#1297), useful for e.g. entering a journey
• When viewing places, actors participating at connected events are now listed there as well
• Improved API with a lot added functionality

In this release were quite some model changes, newest features include:

• There are new production events which allow to link creators to artifacts
• Find and artifacts were merged to artifact, for users it works like before except that labels have changed
• Additional and improved system warnings for non accessible folders, still active default user and wrong database version
• OpenAtlas classes (based on CIDOC classes) can now be browsed via the Model button on the start page
• The API now provides new search parameters and a default path to the current version

Beside some fixes and general improvement it is now possible to track current owners (e.g. a museum) of artifacts.
This can be done by editing the artifact and select a current owner or via a person or group (e.g. an institute like a museum) in the artifact tab.

• Thumbnails creation for images which can also be shown in tables (has to be activated in your profile)

In this release:

Types

• At the type overview there is now a link available to show entities not using a specific type
• Types can now have date spans which can be used for e.g an epoch type or similar

Public notes

• It is now possible to add public notes (in addition to private)
• It is now possible to add multiple notes for one entity
• Notes are now shown in an extra tab at entity view
• Admin and managers can set public notes of other users to private, e.g. in case a user gets inactive

This is a major release with many additions and improvments

• Classes are handled more detailed now, e.g. you will see more of them at the overview list
• Added a new class Artifact which can be used outside of an archeological context
• Information carrier was merged to artifact and can now have a place location
• Legal body was merged to group
• Switch to more sustainable map services
• If searching in comments, date comments will now be searched too
• Exported SQL files are now compressed

Managers might want to check types and reference systems linked to classes because linking is now more detailed too.

• The search is now unaccented e.g. café will find cafe and vice-versa
